I haven’t been utilising my camera very much lately though in my dreams I tend to be photographing quite a lot - I wake up thinking, man I need to get out there. I have had some ideas for making pictures from my dreams but I haven’t gotten around to making them yet.
Anyway, feeling rather lost and blue I figured it was time to take the Canon out of its hiding place and warm it up a little bit. I decided to head to the Docklands on a whim.
I haven’t done this in a long time, go for a walk on my own with no fixed agenda in place. I had my headphones over my ears and my camera slung across my shoulders and I walked. And as I did, I noticed the little bits of emotions that swelled, rippled then faded away. Repeat often. The sky was blue and the early morning sun almost too bright for my eyes. Madeline Peyroux, PJ Harvey, Flunk, Radiohead - they were my company as were the swooping seagulls and the serenity of a new day. It was interestingly enough, a very emotional experience. And I was breathing - the air was crisp and smelt of clean ice.
